AiA LOZ May 7 2011

Posted by admin on May 17, 2011

earl_LOZ_165x150.jpgDecided to make one last trip up to Lake of the Ozarks before it gets hot and MORE big boats get out on the water. This was a really good call too. With Bull Shoals and Norfork being extremely high with all the rain, Shawn and I decide to go back to LOZ for one more tourny! Anglers in Action was having another tournament, and they always put on a good show and have a great turn out of boats! No practice time, just leave after work Friday, spend the night at the best hotel in Osage Beach, Town and Country Motel, get up and go fishing!

Anglers in Action Table Rock

Posted by admin on April 19, 2011

Well I guess every Blog can’t be about how easy it was to catch big fish and win lots of money! There seems to be as many not so good tournaments, as good ones. In fishing you learn to take the good days with the bad, and move on with a positive attitude, knowing that the next tournament will be a good one! When you reach a certain level in fishing, just going out and catching fish it not the objective, I want to WIN every tournament I enter! So, going home after a tough tournament, motivates me that much more for the next one!

OMTT LOZ 2011

Posted by admin on April 5, 2011

Ozark Mountain Team Trail on Lake of the Ozarks March 26th! This is one of those tournaments that gets talked about for a while. Over 22lbs to win and took over 18lbs to get in the top 25. Sometimes everything comes together to make the perfect storm on the water! 70+ degree days leading up to a huge cold front with Rain, Sleet, and Snow is apparently just what the fish wanted!

Wired2fish makes their picks for the Slam

Posted by admin on March 22, 2011

wired2fish_shaw200.jpgWe put our heads together and came up with five picks each. Some are within the five groups that Bassmaster Fantasy Fishing forces you to choose from, and some of the picks are just the best choices for anglers to win the event. A lot of thought went into these picks, but we also did a lot of guessing. We think a lot of anglers got educated at the last event, and we expect everyone to step up their game moving just 90 miles to fish this event. So we expect to see big weights and a lot closer shootout this week. At any rate, Todd, Terry and I make our case for our picks. See which ones you like and don’t like and let us know who you think. > see the picks

What makes the best "The Best"

Posted by admin on March 22, 2011

StJohns_Day1launch-200.jpgTournament fishing is unlike any other competitive sport in the world. The number of uncontrolled variables in professional fishing far exceeds the variables found in other sports. Therefore when a bass pro consistently performs at a high level against so many dynamic challenges – when they are on their ‘A’ game – it warrants a closer look. As a fan and writer of the sport of professional bass fishing, I’m fascinated with what makes the best pros the best pros. At today’s top levels of tournament competition, pros have access to all of the best equipment money can buy. What intrigues me, however, are the intangibles – the visceral, the things beyond boats, motors, line and lures. This is what separates the best from the best. When you go beyond luck to the core of a champion. > see full story
